Math Assessment
Today I will be sending home a math assessment to be signed and returned. Throughout the year the students will complete a diagnostic assessment for various math units. They are not evaluated for reporting purposes, they are assessed to see where the students are at in terms of their understanding of various math concepts. With the data that is collected from the assessments the students will have different pathways to follow that will help strengthen their knowledge and understanding.
When assessments are sent home throughout the year you will notice pink and green writing. We say "tickled pink and green to grow". The pink areas are areas that have met the success criteria and the green areas are areas that are the next steps or areas of improvement.
On the math assessments there are up to 3 pathways. On the assessment sheets you will see P1, P2, P3, those codes determine the pathway that will best support your child in that particular area/concept.
