This week's homework is an EQAO reading comprehension question taken from the 2012 language document. The text can be found by following this link:

When answering questions about a reading selection the students can use ROPE as a tool to help them answer the question.

R: restate the question. The students are to restate the question that is being asked. The person reading their response should be able to determine the question that was asked without reading the question. 

O: give your opinion. This is where the student is to voice their opinion and answer the question.

P: give proof from the text. Students are to go back to the text and give an example from the text to support their opinion. "In the text it says..."

E: experience. Students can provide an experience and make a connection to the text and the question being asked.
