Writing

This year the students will have more of a choice during the writing process. Rather than focusing on a particular writing form for a certain number of weeks, the students will be able to choose which writing form best suites their topic of writing. 

We are currently working on creating a mixed-up animal. The students have selected 2-3 animals that they would like to combine into one animal. We did a sample as a class by using a moose and a shark, we called it a Shamoose. 

The students will use the attached rubric to assess their writing throughout the writing process. There are two rubrics attached in the Google doc. One is for a persuasive piece of writing and the second is for a descriptive piece of writing.
