Character Trait Homework
We have been having many discussion about how we want to be perceived by others. The students are developing an understanding of the importance of how they represent themselves within the classroom, on the schoolyard, and in the community. We have talked about how we want others to describe us and how we want to be remembered by those we meet throughout our lives.
The students independently use accountable talk during classroom discussion and are encouraged to extend its use into their social interactions on the yard.
During our Family Life program we discuss how everyone is unique and has something different to offer to this world. We talk about our feelings and how everyone experiences feelings and expresses their feelings differently. The students are starting to think before they speak and/or act as their words and actions will impact others. They are encouraged to take a few seconds before responding to another person to think about their words or actions.
I would like to continue this discussion with the students throughout the year to help them understand that they have so much to offer our classroom, school, and community. The purpose of this homework is for the students to get a different perspective on how people treat others. We started the year off talking about the Golden Rule. I would like the students to take this opportunity to reflect on their favourite TV show and look at what makes a good friend.
Please follow the link to complete the Google form by November 4th.
Thank you very much.
