Raz-Kids
We have a new reading program that has been purchased for our school. It is an excellent tool to help the students with reading and reading comprehension. Each child has a profile and a password to get into their accounts. The more they read the more they earn stars to shop in the raz-kids rocket room. The levels are from A-Z and each level has books that your child can read, books that can be read to them, and comprehension questions.
Our focus throughout the year will be to have the students read for meaning. They will be taught and encouraged to use various strategies to help them sound out words, use picture cues, and skip a difficult word by reading on and coming back to figure it out.
If you choose to use this program at home you may log on using a computer by going to:
You will be asked to type in the teacher username. The username for our class is smousseauc. You will then find your child's name and they will enter their password. You can also logon using an iPad the app is a free app that you will need to download. Within the app you would login the same way as if you were using a computer.
