In order to do so I need to have your permission. Please check your child's agenda and sign the permission form and return tomorrow (Wednesday) so we can draw names. The price limit will be $5.00. We will be exchanging gifts on Friday during our PJ and movie day. Please write the child's
name on the gift and write from your Secret Santa.

Reindeer Cam

We have come across an amazing website where you can see Santa feeding the reindeer. He feeds them at 11am, 6pm, and 9pm. It is really exciting to see the reactions on the children's faces. Hope you will enjoy this experience with your family.

Come out on Thursday after school to celebrate Christmas in Corkery. This year, our theme is "The First Christmas". Our class will be singing "Innkeeper". I would like to remind everyone that the grade 2/3 class will be meeting in front of the computer lab at 5:25 to get ready for our performance. We will be performing at 5:35. Please pick up your children at the side of the stage or tell them where to meet you in the audience.

We look forward to sharing this wonderous evening with you and your families. Please enjoy the concert, sleigh rides, food, hot chocolate, and Mr.and Mrs. Claus.

We are still collecting food items for the West Carleton food bank. Thank you for all your donations so far, we have collected lots of food for people in our community.

Advent: Week Two
May our prayer of petition rise before you, we pray, O Lord, that, with purity unblemished,we, your servants, may come, as we desire,to celebrate the great mysteryof the Incarnation of your Only Begotten Son.Who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.

We re-light the candle of hope and now also light the Second Purple candle of love. We know that God is love. We remember with thankful hearts the gift of Jesus, who came as a babe in a manger, lived and loved among us, was killed on a cross, and arose! Love endures forever.
Snow Day

Have a happy and safe snow day!

Food Drive

Way to go 2/3's! Thank you very much for your food donations. Today, our class collected the most food items in the whole school with a total of 30! For our prize we got to choose the trivia question for the lunch time announcements. Way to go 2/3's you are showing ways to care for others in our community during the Christmas season. Keep the donations coming! Tomorrow we are asking for cereal (all food items are also welcome)!

John 6
Phillip said "Master it is getting late and the people are hungry. You should send them home." "Why send them home? Just feed them!" said Jesus. A little boy offered to share his five small loaves of bread and two tiny fish. Phillip threw his hands in the air and said "That's not enough for all of these people!" "Ask them to sit down" Jesus said. He took the bread in his hands, looked up to heaven, and blessed it. He did the same with the fish. Then he told the disciples to hand out the food. The people were amazed! There was more than enough for everyone. When all the people had finished eating, the disciples filled twelve baskets with the food that was left! With God's love, the five loaves and two small fish fed more than 5000 people.

Advent: Week One

Keep us alert, we pray, O Lord our God,
as we await the advent of Christ your Son,

so that when he comes and knocks
he may find us watchful in prayer and exultant in his praise.
Who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever.

Today we started our celebration of the first week of Advent. Congratulation to 9 of our grade 2/3 students for reading today during our Advent Liturgy in the gym.

I have included some new videos on the blog under the 'video' section. The videos are as follows; The Nativity Story, The Lord's Prayer (song),  What is Advent (slideshow), Peace Like a River (song), and Soon (song). We watched these videos today after the Advent Liturgy and the students were very interested and asked that I post them on our blog. I hope you and your family will enjoy watching, singing, and discussing the events of the Christmas season.

Here is a link to the living with Christ children's missal for Sunday December 9th if you wish to discuss the readings and stories for next Sunday's mass. http://www.livingwithchrist.ca//missal.php
